"Super - Markets" - They were invented as a means of reducing the troubles of switching shops, searching for Variety, Hospitality, Satisfaction, Value for money at one place, and Oh to save some time for the Common Man..
With such a viewpoint in mind, I walk into the "More." supermarket (Kagadaspura)... Being the closest to my house, I have visited it twice... Well, though I had a bad experience the last time, I tried to rethink and gave it another try and finally concluded with "Alas, No More..."
Why? Lets see...
The First time,
While using the Credit card I had to instruct the man at the counter how to use it, as he was pretty confused and clueless.. and though, I tried to make an attempt to help him out, he rudely instructed me first that the Card isnt working, twice... Add to it, the long Queues and no variety. it was my first visit there..
This time,
I enter to buy a couple of vegetables and some bare necessities..
Not many essential commodities were visible, yet I was able to spot the places where they would normally be stored.. All kinds of Cookies were available, but a shaving blade? Not to be seen... and finally when I spotted a helper, he showed me to a bunch of Gillette one-time-use blades which probably no one uses...
The vegetables were either in bad shape or were not available.. Not placed properly, neither in any proper order for ease of access..
Except, for some special new boxes of Corn Flakes, i found nothing new..
Variety? time to scratch it...
Only two cash counters with particularly Lazy employees stand with no motivation of selling a product.. the first time I waited for 45 minutes, and the second time for almost an hour.. even though I had only two guys in front of me... Visibly, only two helpers were available who were spending more time on chit-chatting away about their love-lives, than showing any concerns for the customers...
Hospitality? time to scratch it....
Ambiance was okay, though, it was not some thing one should be proud of.. weirdly placed counters where once in, you arent able to spot your way out..
Only medium sized poly-bags were available.. I had to carry 3 bags just to take 200 bucks worth of goods... And this happened on both my visits...
Comfort? time to scratch it....
It seems they have this membership scheme with a card that supposedly gives you a certain rebate.. The feature is called Clubmore.. and you get reward points, discounts etc on your purchase.. well out of the 8-10 customers I saw, the guy asked for it only to one of em.. Customer Satisfaction Policy is it? I doubt that... Satisfaction? time to scratch it...
Value for Money? I am not sure, as I did not find any special prices except for huge combos getting a rebate... and some proprietary products from More.. that did not impress me that much anyways... Still, a few good offers can be spotted here and there and so, I am not scratching it as of now..
The bottom line, what use is it for a Super Market, if you had to wait an hour in a queue to buy 2 kgs of vegetables and a box of Corn Flakes?
My advice, you are most likely gonna find more variety in a Hop Com than here, and more satisfaction at a humble roadside vendor.. so, why spend your time here? try something else for that.. may be some more Browsing on MS! :-)
