Father of all home mixer grinders

I went looking out for good mixie for my mom as she kept complaining about the two old mixies we had. They worked but gave a lot of trouble, spent a lot of time on the repair table.

All I ever heard of was Sumeet mixer grinders. So with that in mind, I went to market and started checking out household electrical shops. Soon I saw the array of companies that had started manufacturing mixer grinders.

The sales person at Dass electronics at east street, Pune suggested the Morphy Richards Mixer grinder. Checked it out but did not buy it that day as the piece they had was damaged. Then I waited for a week or so but they did not manage to get a good piece. Then I struck gold, Huns appliance shop, off MG Road Pune had a great deal. They had a deal which todays generation is most familiar with -Exchange/buy back.

All I had to do was take my old run down mixie(which by now I hated the sight of). They did not even look at it, got 800 bucks off on the new Morphy Richards mixer grinder-Icon Classique. The MRP on the icon classique was Rs. 3415/- and I managed to get the new mixer grinder for 2600. I agree its a little on the higher side but I tell you it works like a wonder.

Mom is real happy with it and I get all my favourite dishes again. As with all morphy richards products 5 years guarantee, with 2 years guarantee on the motor. Service is looked after by Bajaj electricals India ltd. Take it back to the shop where you bought it from and they will get it repaired from bajaj and all you have to do is collect it back from them.

I doubt you will need to do this before the 5 years are over. The motor does not heat up at all and gives 600rpm. Makes puree and pulp in seconds. The plastic handle, you need to be careful of, when attaching the jars to the machine, it cracks easily. That’s the only drawback.

Do not go for the icon model as the jars are not of steel, <SALEM> though its about 400 bucks cheaper.

Happy mixing!
