I purchased this oven about a month ago with special consideration for its rotisserie attachment. I have not tried rotisserie recipes yet but whatever food I did make in this oven have come out very satisfying and as expected.
The heating elements are found as parallel set of rods, two each on top and bottom. The thermostat is ranged from 100 to 250 and feels smooth but the mode selection knob feels tacky which is OK and not to be considered a problem. The timer knob is ranged from 0-60 minutes but its spring only activates near the 10 mark, meaning it is not accurate below 10minutes. However it comes with a “Stay on” mode where the timer can be bypassed.
The accessories include a drip tray, a crumb tray(the regular baking tray), 4 steel skewers, 1 rotisserie rod with prongs and wire frame. The rotisserie function seems quite silent when test run unloaded.
The only problem I could spot is that the shelving notches are not uniformly placed with respect to the rods. The middle shelf is actually closer to the bottom heating element which can overheat the baking tray and char the food. To resolve this problem, the drip tray must be placed on a notch directly above the bottom heating element to disperse heat.
There are 5 modes in this model: Keep warm(lightly activates the top element), Broil mode(thermostat controlled top element), Rotisserie mode(thermostat controlled top element with rotisserie motor ON), Bake mode(thermostat controlled bottom element along with lightly activated top element), Toast mode(thermostat controlled both elements).
The manual maintains that the oven must be preheated for at least 10 minutes before use in Toast mode at 250 C. But I find it unnecessary since you can follow what is prescribed in the recipe book. If it simply asks to preheat your oven then do that trick. While using Keep warm function, the food to be preheated must be kept in the lower most tray position. But don’t expect it to preheat like a microwave. I find this option to be highly suitable for making Aam papads and fruit leathers.
Overall, I find this product from Morphy Richards satisfying and easy to use.
