I had delivered my baby girl at Motherhood on August 23, 2013. This was my second delivery. Compared to the first delivery which in spite of getting admitted in a big hospital and a reputed gynecologist, led to complications.
During the initial months of pregnancy, I consulted with Dr. Savita Kohli. She is a conscientious no-nonsense doctor and I was very comfortable with her.
A few friends misguided me by suggesting that it was better if the doctor who did my c-section the first time did it the second time too as she knows about the incision and everything. So, I changed doctor in my 4th month and went to the reputed gynecologist.
To my dismay, I found out that she was too busy that she gave less than 5 minutes during my pre-natal check-ups. I didnt mind initially but towards the end of my pregnancy, I started having false pains and it was becoming difficult to get her appointment(she works at another big hospital) and finally when we managed to get her appointment, she brushed us off in a hurry as usual.
I was fully frustrated that I did not wish to entrust my delivery and baby to her. I went back to Dr. Savita Kohli during the last four weeks of pregnancy and she welcomed me back like I had never left. She guided me in a matter-of-fact manner by neither painting a rosy picture nor scaring my wits, spending enough time during my check-up visits till I got all my queries cleared. She made me feel very comfortable that I decided to let her take care of me and my baby and as she consults at Motherhood, I changed hospital too.
Dr. Savita did my c-section and it went very smoothly. I was able to walk the very next day and my recovery has been amazing. Honestly, my recovery took much longer during my first delivery. Till date, which is 12 weeks post-pregnancy, I go to her for my check-ups and I am so glad that I made last minute decisions that turned out right and good.
My sincere thanks to Dr. Savita Kohli and MotherhHospital for enriching my pregnancy and delivery experience.
