Poor facilities, rude staff, - wont reccommend

I had my baby at Motherhood, Indiranagar Branch in March, 2014. I started my tests and gynaecologist visits from January 2014. I chose this hospital because it claimed to have 5 star facilities but that is not true. The facilities are just average not very great. These are my observations:

  1. Gynaecologist visit appointments - many patients are given concurrent appointment timings whereas the doctor takes about 15-20 mins with each, so there are lot of people who arrive at correct time but are waiting for a long time. And there is no information, no display which shows which appointment number is going on, the staff at reception are clueless.

  2. Scanning Facility - they have only one scan facility which can test one patient at a time, and even the emergencies from surgery are brought in here which means, the outpatients have to sometimes wait extended periods. I had booked scan appointment at 3:30 PM, I got a call from one of the staff saying that scan are getting delayed due to a emergency scan, so I was told my scan will be at 4 PM, hence I left from home accordingly. Finally my scan was done at 7:30 PM. I was 9 months pregnant waiting cluelessly. the reception staff would tell me "2 mins" whenever I asked her how long I have to wait. And upon that the scan radiologist came out and told me that people are waiting since morning so I should bear the torture too.

  3. Maternity ward rooms - The rooms have mosquitoes. And one bit my newborn. the hospital is situated in a very old building and the premises is full of cockroaches and mosquitoes. The AC in the room is one duct is the corner of the room, and that corner is very cold while the remaining room is stuff and warm. The hand sanitizer was placed in my room on the day I was checking out, which was very amusing. Great way to cost cutting.

  4. Maternity ward nurses - some of the nurses are very rude. They don’t like to be called for assistance. I beeped the nurse couple of times and then went out to check at the nurses station, the nurses there was busy playing games on mobile phones and was quite rude when I asked help me with feeding the baby.

  5. Lab facility - blood sample from  my newborn baby was collected 3 times but yet when the newborn screening report came out, none of the blood tests were done. All tests were marked as rejected. On asking we were told to give blood sample again. how many parents would like their new-born’s hands being pricked over and over again.

  6. Feeding room has bedbugs in the sitting chair, after I fed my baby, I noticed that my arms and legs were getting rashes from insect bites.
