I gifted this phone to my wife sometime during diwali and rather than the product I am more impressed by Motorolas after sales support(in mumbai)
The decision to buy this was more because of a new redington(after sales service) outlet opening up in my area(shivaji park) and my wifes anti-nokia stand. She wanted a touch screen phone and due to my bad experience with an eten m500 we zeroed in/on the ming.
Things were fine till about a month, when one day my wife wanted to hear the FM radio on her ming(for the 1st time) but it wouldnot work. After quite a few tries and a no-go with the radio, I took it to the redington outlet . They tried it too but it wouldnot work.
Apparently, there was some fault with the main PCB and the board would have to replaced. They asked me if it was older than 1 month(it was 2months old) else they would have given me a new phone.(they give a moto voucher for the same shop where you have initially purchased it)
I was under the impression that they will have to send the phone to moto main service centre and it would take nothing less than a few months for getting a replacement part, but to my surprise they asked me to return in 45 minutes.
I returned in 4 hrs time and there my wifes phone was, completely repaired with a working FM radio. And a new IMEI number.
Had it been a nokia, they would have taken months to do a similar thing( My n70 warranty repair took them 20 days each time( 2 times) just to rectify a faulty on/off switch).
Maybe the reason for such quick service is lack of moto users as compared to nokia, but all credits to them.
