As an Motorola enthusiast and living in an Android crazy environment I would like to share some views for this marvelous piece of engineering device.
This device is officially on 2.2, I have update adobe flash player 11.1 full player which can view youtube video in the browser screen and with a hugh amount of inbuilt memory 2GB (acessible 1.2GB ) you dont need to worry about applications, even you can install most of the apps on sd card.
This can also run android 2.3.5 based cyanogen mod 7, MiUi rom which are spectacular.
The phone cpu is underclocked version at 800GHz , if you install any gingerbread android on it it shall automatically go at 1Ghz.....and also you can manually overclock safely to 1.1 Ghz also.
With almost LIFEPROOF features and a decent CPU with PowerVR SGX530 Graphics processor its capable to play most of the videos (with 3rd party apps installed) and HD games on it.Install applications like rockplayer , adobe reader, etc and you are good to go.
WiFi is excellent as it has "n" support.
GPS locks up satellites in just around a minute, which is quite awesome.
It supports 3D surround sound and other prebuild options for audio clarity.
Sound output is excellent.
Camera Autofocus really good, although the cam is average in low light but if you maintain the distance between object and flash light intensity then I takes good pictures in low / no light conditions.
Battery works for 8 hours with full wifi, browsing and other activities continuously working..even it will work for a day or more than that you have battery manager with motorola has integrated.
TriColour LED really nice and cool...green for notifications, blue of incoming calls, Red for low battery.
Also it has a proximity sensor (flip silent, screen lock when near to your ear etc..) and E Compass.
The LCD is Wide Screen resolution with a refresh rate of 69Hz and 240 DPI depth with gives crystal clear view and flicker free ebook reading.
In a nutshell to sum it up, motorola has created and integrated proper android on this device which wont let you down even if its android 2.2.(..for those you feel 2.2 is bad 2.3 gingerbread is available on various forums like xda and all..) This is a perfect youth device to carry with you.
The new product defy plus is just a enhanced battery support only..nothing else if you are smart enough you buy defy , get defy plus battery and some expert tips on various forums and rock on..!! ;)
