Motorola Moto E3 Power Nice model good quality

Motorola just announced its Moto E3 Power smartphone in India and has priced it at a lofty Rs 7, 999. At that price, you get a budget Motorola smartphone that is splashproof, and a battery that Motorola claims, “will keep you connected from sun up to sun down”. But how does it fair against similar priced smartphones? Let’s find out!

First let’s take a long hard look at what Motorola has on offer here.

The highlight of the smartphone lies in its name “Power”. With past E series smartphones from Motorola featuring nothing special(apart from the low price), Motorola E3 model for India offers a bigger battery. At 3, 500mAh it should be more than enough for a single day of use(on paper) and even if it does run out of juice, a 10W rapid charger can give you 5 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging. Apart from this, you get a 5-inch HD display with 720p resolution, a year old MediaTek MT6735P chipset paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage.

Looking at its competitors, it’s easy to conclude that Xiaomi has the upper hand in this segment with the unbeatable Redmi 3S Prime. You also get a metal body with the Prime compared to the Moto E3 Power and the the Coolpad Mega 2.5D that feature a plastic body with a metal frame. Then there’s also the fingerprint reader on the back!

n terms of software, Xiaomi will offer users a skinned version of its MIUI that now comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. With Motorola, you get a stock-like OS but depends on how you like your Android. The version on the Moto E3 is expected to run lighter and faster thanks to the limited bloat, but the Prime packs in a better processor with more RAM for Rs 1, 000 extra.

The only area where Moto E3 Power beats the competition is its splashproof abilities. You will be able to place a call in the rain and you also get a dedicated microSD card slot(like on the Honor) which the Redmi 3s Prime does not offer. A dedicated slot is a big deal for dual SIM users as it allows for two SIM cards and a microSD card to be used all at once.
