Motorola moto G(3rd Gen) is another device in its famousg family.
The company claims that its the phone that loves you back but is
really so well try to find out in our review.
DESIGN AND DISPLAY:
On the design front there is nothing differen than its predecessor. It
has got a textured curved back which looks quite premium. On front it
has got dual speakers and a 5 inch 720x1280p display with~294 ppi
this is disappointing because most its rivals have full HD display.
There is a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the screen and
screen is water resistant. Apart from that the screen is sharp and
crisp and colours look good. Even the brightness of the screen is
quite good.
PERFORMANCE:
Moto G 3 comes with Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 quadcore chipset
with block speed of 1.4GHz which is again a disappointing move fro
Motorola as most of its competitors have either Mediatek octacore
chipset or the Snapdragon 615. It comes with Adreno 306 GPU. It runs
quite smoothly but during heavy multitasking there are some minor
lags.
It comes with 8GB of internal storage expandable upto 32GB via micro
SD card. However 1GB RAM is just unacceptable at this price point.
CAMERA:
Moto G 3rd Gen comes with 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP
front shooter. The camera quality is satisfying however low light
pictures sometimes becomes grainy but still images are decent.
OS AND BATTERY:
Moto G 3rd Gen comes with Android v5.1.1(Lollipop), planned upgrade
to v6.0(Marshmallow) and the UI is near stock. There are also some
gesture features like shaking the phone will open the camera app.
Overall the OS is quite clean and no complaints on this side.
There is a non removable 2470mAh Li-ion battery which will last you a
day on normal usage.
FINAL WORDS:
There is no doubt that the G series has done great wonders for
Motorola but this time Motorola didnt get this right. No full HD
screen, quadcore processor, 1GB RAM are some of the features that does
no justice with its price. The phone does not offer value for money
and I think the competition has lot more to offer than this device.
