This phone feels like you are holding a very premium phone in your hand. Awesome feel. After using it for last 8 months, I can say this is the best you can get below Rs. 20000/-. I bought the 16 gb version.
So, here are some useful points for new buyers:
1) Display: Awesome, crisp, clear, vivid and beautiful.
2) Speed and performance: Zero lag, lightening fast. Pure Android experience as expected from & by Google. After the kitkat update, the performance is much better as kitkat is optimized for 512MB RAM phones. So, 1GB is more than enough here! Battery performs really well, goes for 1.5-2 days on one full charge with nominal usage. With heavy 3G usage, it goes for 1 day+.
3) Call quality: No issues! Clean and clear!
4) Build quality: just great, design is awesome. Its a joy holding this phone in your hand. Corning Gorilla glass 3 and water repellent coating makes the phone life proof.
5) Camera: In this department, the phone is behind other phones which have 8MP cameras. But still, for a 5MP camera, it takes good photos in day light. But, its bad in dark. Flash is powerful.(Use droidlight by motorola app for using it as a torch)
6)Storage: 16GB version gives you 12.xx GB for use, I feel its good enough for me. Also you may connect an USB/pen drive using the micro usb cable and watch movies/listen to songs. It works on kitkat also without any paid software, you just need a file manager(free).
So, overall it’s a thumbs up for this phone!
PLEASE NOTE(For those who have queries):
1)The service center names which flipkart is sending with the product are old ones, the latest ones can be viewed on in.motorola.com > moto g > customer service > authorized service centers.
2) Those who are complaining that the phone is not genuine: Motorola has officially launched the phone exclusively via flipkart(can be read on their fb, twitter pages), so you will surely get a genuine product. Also, on the moto g box it is written: Imported in India by Flipkart India.
3) Regarding ringtones: Just install a file manager(FX) or use your pc and move the song(which u want to set as ringtone) in ringtones folder.
4) Unable to share mp3 files: this is another rumor spread by anti- moto g reviewers. I have shared audio files a lot of times using moto g. Just use a file manager(FX).
So, be care free and order it! It’s the best phone ever under 20k. You will surely get a replacement from flipkart if the piece is faulty(which is very rare).
