The device I am going to review today is the Moto G plus(4th gen), the one that I have been using since 4 weeks now as my primary phone.
Its no secret that the moto line of motorola has come out trumps for Lenovo who took over the companys mobility business in 2014 and has been ruling the indian smartphone arena ever since! The Moto G phones have always amused the masses and the new G4 plus doesnt cease to amuse any lesser.
LOOK AND FEEL:-
Unlike its predecessors the moto G4 has a pretty flattish back as compared to the curvy feel that you used to get with the Moto devices. It sort of has a rubberish matte finish touch to it and feels classy and tad bit sassy! The screen is a 5.5inch one with full HD-TFT display. The brightness is pretty amazing and visibility under direct sunlight is quite awesome. For added protection we have a Corning Gorilla glass 3 for its protection.
Theres no much fuss about the buttons with voice control and lock keys all at the right hand side of the device, the 3.5 mm audio jack at the top and turbo charging USB slot below.
SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES:-
In terms of power, the Moto G4 Plus uses Qualcomms Snapdragon 617, which is an octa-core chip running at 1.5GHz. You also get 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The phone will also be available with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage at a lower price. Other specifications include 4G LTE, Bluetooth, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, USB-OTG, and FM radio. The choice of NFC is a #return{void}.
The device runs on an updated Android Marshmallow.
PERFORMANCE:-
The device performed quite well till now as far as the usage is concerned. Overheating is a issue, if heavy graphics games are played for more than 20 minutes straight. But for someone like me who doesnt fend on high end games, that wont be a issue. The battery life is superb .The moto G4 plus comes with a 3000 maH battery that lasts well over a day for light to moderate usage. The major booster for someone who wants to buy this phone is the turbocharging capacity of the device. The device charges from 10% to 50% within 15 minutes of charging. Also the battery discharges slowly.
Another important pointer is the Fingerprint sensor of the device. The scanner is very responsive and is faster than the Iphones homescreen cum fingerprint scanner. The only glitch I spotted here is that the scanner is not a home button, even though its placed like it.Although if you touch the scanner in between playing apps it quickly pops up the home back and recent apps buttons.
With 16 MP primary cam and 5 MP front cam, the camera is a great one and has excellent picture quality with lifelike color recognition. Indoor pictures and low light imaging arent so bad either. The front cam is pretty excellent and clicks good selfies in any type of light conditions.
VERDICT:-
For someone like me who changed from Micromax Canvas Magnus A117 to this device, its been a "ahoy!" sort of moment.
To sum up the review the device is a definite look out for people who have their hands on their pockets but are also up for greater smartphone quality. Also if you are a hardcore gamer you should rather consider the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 instead of the Moto G 4 plus. This ofcourse purely because of the heating issue of the device.Other than that this device is nothing short of praises.Over and Out!
