Depending on your preferences on what you like in a phone there is a wide range of openions. But the one phone that satisfies that wide spectrum is MOTO G5 Plus. I realised this when I got the opportunity of taking a hands on. There is very less that you can complain about. Pointing out the downsides of this device, though it has a front firing speaker, it doesn’tfeel very satisfying because its a single speaker.
The front camera lacke a bit on megapixel’s side since ever the cheaper phones offer an 8megapixel camera. Now speaking of its body, the aluminium panel at the bakk feels a little slippery and tends to slip off the hand. Coming on to the screen, the 5.2 inch IPS display packs 1920x1080 display which due to its 5.2 inch real estate feels sharper and brighter than its competetors.
This device also comes with a water repellant coating which can easily save the phone from splashes and even rain. And now the ultimate thing this phone is built around, it’s camera. This is the main highlight of this device. Its dual pixel autofocus is very similar to that of S7 and S7 edge. And the f1.7 apperture results in an extraordinary bokeh effect which I havent seen in any smartphone at this price point.
The battery on this phone is not much bigger but thanks to power efficiency of Android 7 Nougat this device got me across a good one and a half day with heavy usage. I was also surprised after experiencing the Snapdragon 625 processor’s power that this device amplifies even further. I have used its competetors with same processor but none of them were this snappy because of its close to stock android nature.
And for the jio fans out there, yes this phone support VoLTE. The fingerprint sensor on this device is lightning fast and it never missed a beat in my test and it even has some customisable features which can eliminate the navigation bar and phone can be used by fingerprint sensor instead.
So, summing up, thus is a very successful approach by Lenovo which made it very appealing, very powerful and most importantly very close to perfect.
