Out of all the cell phones I have own, I am pleased with the Razr. I give it 4 stars because the only thing that I am displeased with at this time I have bought the Razr from Cingular, It has no video capability. I was sitting at work with a coworker showing her Razr off from T-mobile and it came with video capability. She could video tape us. Mine can only play videos other then that, this phone has been a real joy to me.
I am rather surprise to read across comments for the number one complaint being it’s too big. I’m not sure if these are people who were just looking at the phones or they actually own one. I would say it does look different then most common cell phones. It is bigger in size as far as when it comes to my Samsung slider phone, or the previous Motorola phone that I had with T-Mobile but what I really like about the Razr is I can slide this cell phone in my pocket of my jeans and I virtually forget that it is there. I had scared myself once not able to feel it being there in my pocket and every now and then feel for it to make sure that it is there. It is that thin!!!
The Razr phone is basically a clamp phone. It has a small color screen on the outside so when the phone rings you see the caller id. This screen will shut off in a few seconds after you close your phone up. When you open this phone up, you open to a 2.2 inch 176 x 220 pixel 64K color TFT display. The keypad is very different to most cell phones but not to hard to get use to.
As the Razr is in the closed position looking at the small screen on the front. there are two buttons on the left side, the top button brings up auto selection for vibe, vibe and ring, soft, loud, silent, you must push the second button underneath the first on the left side to cycle through the selections, if you open the phone up the top button becomes the bottom button in open position operates the volume. Close the phone back up and the second button on the left side if you hold it down, your camera comes on. That is another way to turn on the camera but I much rather open the phone up to turn on the camera and take pictures through the larger screen. The button on the right with the phone open operates the voice tags. You can train your phone with your voice so it can dial the numbers for you when you say a name. I also use this button when the phone is close to light up the screen to see the time.
I also like this phones wireless Bluetooth ability. There are many Bluetooth head sets you can use with this phone. I like using the Jabra BT250v Vibrating Alert Bluetooth Headset. This head set says it can work wirelessly 30 feet away from your cell phone. I can leave the cell phone in the kitchen and answer the front door with the wireless headset on my ear which is approximately 25 feet from my kitchen to the front door and not lose the person on the other end, works just as good when I have the cell phone in my front pocket of my jeans. No drop calls.
The camera is integrated VGA camera with 4x zoom, you get a speaker phone, with MP3 ring tones support and I must say the MP3 ring tones I download sounds excellent. 3D Graphics Engine, Java™ MIDP 2.0, This phone didn’t come with any games, so I had downloaded some games down to it and the games looks great on this phone. I like to have boggle, solitaire, jewel quest on the phone when I get into some boring situations like waiting in a doctors office and such.
I’m not ready to part from this phone anytime soon.
