I never was into changing phones as long as it served my purpose. But was stuck recently in Canada with a nokia, which does not have multi-band capability.
My current phone served me well for over 4 years but it was time to move on. After some research work, I got my hands on a Motorola V3 RAZR. Its love at first sight!
--------------------
The phone looked really sexy. Checked some key aspects as below:
Bands : Quad Band (Virtually works on any GSM anywhere in the world)
Speaker phone : Yes and a great one
Connectivity : USB and blue tooth. Can synchronise with outlook directly
Address book : upto 1000 with email, multiple phone numbers etc.
Date book : Calendar, reminders (Must for me)
Camera: Yes
Expandable memory: no
Memory capacity: 5MB
Accessories : Mostly anything we want: Car kit, headphones etc.
Charging : can charge through USB port of a computer / charger (I love this)
Web browsing / email access: Possible
-----------------------
As you can see, it virtually has all the things one would look for in a phone and its COOL (specifically the Black one I bought. I did not like the silver colour).
In summary, my popularity rating in the peer group has gone up since I bought the phone. Cant think of anyone NOT asking me to examine the phone atleast once. The phone is especially great to put it in the suit pocket as its flat, thin and light.
The talk time I get is around 3-4 hrs and standby time of around 4 days. The best part of all, I got the phone at Rs. 18, 500 ($430) with warranty and all. Which in my opinion is a steal. The phone is quite easy to use (ofcourse as a nokia user, it took me some time to get used to different menus).
The menus are totally re-configurable.. after 2-3 days fiddling with it, now I am at ease with the phone.
I recommend atleast a “Dekho” at the phone it you are considering buying one. I think its a great buy for the price.
