MotoRazr V3i Razes Competition

Motorazr V3i did to Motorola what the I-Pod did to Apple. Both the companies were in deep red before these iconic products bailed them out of Red Sea and showed them profits.

The model in question is the Motorazr V3i.

This is a style icon first and then a mobile.

The mobile lools very sleek and really posh. The prices of the model has come down from a launch price of Rs 25, 000+ to a Rs 6600/- today.

The difference between the earlier V3 and the V3i is the incorporation of the I tunes.

The camera configuration had been upgraded to a 1.23 MP in the V3i.

Lets come to the features.

The phone, with dual screens, the exterior a not too promising 65000 colour scheme and the interior a better 2, 62, 000 colours looks cool.

It has got all the features that a mobile of this capacity should have. This includes profiles, alarm clock, MP3 player(software for I tunes included in pack), a 1.23 MP camera with video recording, voice controls and other application folders.,

But this phone too had a few bugs. The most irritating one that I found was that even after downloading the P2k commander and the Skiman softwares, I could not load any 3rd party themes or skins on to the mobile.

Any music stored on the Memory card would have to be copied onto the phone memory and only then can it be used as a ringtone. Thats fully as the phone memory is limited to 20MB only.

The absence of a stopwatch was also noticeable along with EDGE.

Another main flaw is the absence of a FM radio. What was Motorola thinking? Nowadays, even a Rs 1200/- mobile boasts of a Stereo FM.

The software provided has not been tested by Miscosoft Digital Signatue team so the Pop up may arise on installation.

The pros now-

The battery life is decent. Being in the Corporate Sales line, the phone is always buzzing. Still I charge the phone once in every two days. This is over and above the GPRS that I use daily.

The music sound is decent, though the Apple licence restricts only 100 songs that can be loaded on the I tunes application.

The screen savers can be easily downloaded through the software. The cropping of songs in the Motorola Phone tunes is great.

The Motorazr is a good phone with decent performance and superlative looks. It has got some flaws but not anything major that should prevent a prospective buyer from owning it.
