A Rokr with Good Value for Money

If you are a tech geek who likes to do things in style without spending a heavy pocket, u have landed at the correct place to choose ur phone.

E6 comes in two variants - Normal and Premium, difference is u get the Bluetooth snoop in Premium which cost u more about 3200/- than Normal. I am not interested in Snoop as we need to take care to charge it just like the phone, hence took the Normal for 11, 300 in Chennai(it costs 10300 now).

I am not going to explain u each and other feature here but only that r distinct frm phones in this price range.

Music- real player preinstalled with good options - to play all the music and videos. But the equalizer is not useful as music sounds grt without making it on. You got a good wired headset and a pretty clear external speaker(compared to Nokia N95 even it is loud). FM Radio reception is quite good and u can choose b/w mono and stereo but u cant record.

Camera- It a 2 Mpx cam with no flash which can take clear picture only in good light conditions, with no shaking hands while snapping. Never think of using Digital Zoom.

Camera have 2 modes: Normal and Macro. Normal is used while taking regular pics while Macro mode is for BCR. The worth part is u need to mechanically move the switch to change the mode near the camera. So when compared with peers camera is a lower ranked one.

BCR(Business Card Reader) – you have to keep your camera in Macro mode to capture the Card. It works good and mostly it will recognize atleast the name and number, but not other details, but u can also save the card as a image in ur phone. At this price of the phone, it is a grt feature to have.

Document Viewer- It has a built in Viewer software to view docs, excel, pdf files. You have option to zoom in and zoom out. There is no special features in this viewer. You can just read, but cant edit the content.

Usability(text input, navigation)- if u are a hardcore Sms fan never think of buying this one. But dialing a number, a contact in phonebook can be done with fingers without stylus but SMS and contact saving needs the definite use of stylus unless u have sharp nails. The Navigation is pretty fast and the screen resolution is amazing comparable with N95. The interface has a Task manager similar to windows where u can switch b/w apps and end the apps that run.

Connectivity – Bluetooth is pretty fast even across cross devices(Nokia, Sony Err) and u can send multiple files at once by a Share option. GPRS is fine with the preinstalled Opera Browser. U can use any Bluetooth headset that supports A2DP to pair with ur phone for wireless stereo music.

Extra Features- u have option for the phone to read out incoming messages and numbers u dial. Email can be configured with POP or IMAP such that u receive mails directly to ur phone, u can also limit the size of attachment that gets download in the process. There are many other features which u can explore.

Softwares – Sudoko and a Car racing are the preinstalled games, but u can get many other 3rd party free games. I installed Gmail client and Google Mobile Maps software which works pretty well.

You can mod ur Rokr with the online help of motorolafans.com and modmymoto.com which have a good collection of them, but be careful since u can brick ur phone if done incorrectly.

Finally I recommend this phone for people who love their phone and who can take good care of it without dropping as if the touch screen display breaks it costs 9k bucks. Remember 1 thing u wont these many features in any other phone at this price tag.
