Looks awesome but....

I have been using cellphones for almomst 10 years now. I have used, Siemens, Motorola, Samsung and wanted my next phone to be a Nokia. I went to buy the Nokia 5210 expressmusic but the shopkeeper showed me this phone which he said had all the features that the Nokia phone had and more and still costed 8500 only.

I liked the phone though it looks a bit broad(more manly looks) though quite slim, it can be mistaked as an ipod. The display is awesome, 2 MP camera too takes nice picture in good light but lacks a flash. It has dedicated music keys, sound playback is very good though not as loud as a Nokia or a Sony. Some features that you will not find in other phones at this price is the Voice Recognition, Full browser, text to voice, you can hear the messages aloud. Expandable memory upto 8GB. It also has a normal earphone jack so if you have an aux in you can plug it in your music system or even your car stereo.

Now comes the flip side, The phone is quite slow, if somebody calls you the caller will hear the caller ring for almost 5 seconds before your phone starts ringing, so if you are not quick enough to answer, the caller might hang up. Similarly, if y ou are just fiddling with the phone and there is a text message that you receive, the phone freezes for almost 5 seconds till you get the new message notification. I tried changing profiles, settign my own ringtone but nothing helps. In fact when you set the profile to vibrate and ring in the phone, when you receive a call and the phone starts vibrating, you will not be able to pick the call till the phone starts ringing. The ringtone is not so loud and you may never hear the phone ringing in a noisy enviroment. The speaker is at the back side of the phone so that further supresses the rintone volume if you have kept the phone flat on a surface like your bed or a table. The vibrator is weak too. Battery backup is not too great, I use my bluetooth headset for a couple of hours in a day with bluetooth on always and talk for approx 2-3 hours and by the end of the day the battery comes to 1/4th and I have to charge it in the night.

Overall, the phone is a good example of technology coming at a cheap price, but it does goofs up at the very basic thing a phone is used for. To make and receive calls. Go for it only when you want to show the phone more and talk less on it.
