Cell phones now are no longer a luxury but a necessity, few years ago, to afford a cell phone with camera was a big deal, and what if it has a memory card option!!!!!!!!! of my god... remb that Nokias Fat phone...
now to afford a cell phone with camera, music, memory card, speaker phone is easy and fair with price dropping within 4 digits bracket, and various brands like Nokia, Samsung, LG pitching the Indian market now we have one more - Motorola.
India was unknown to Motorola or rather, Motorola brand was unknown to Indians before Motorazer model was launched in India (that’s what I believe... as Colgate is to toothpaste, Nokia is to cell phone)
Well I bought this cell phone this year in Aug 06, as a gift to my wife, since her desire to get this phone was on her list for a long time and I was waiting for a price drop, anyways I bought this phone Motorazer v3i from a authorized dealer in New Delhi.
This phone comes with:-
A beautiful packing, trust me on this, no paper wraps require its so elegant and worth gifting
hands free
Data cable, USB
Charger
Memory card :- 256 MB
two CDs phone tools and motorazer cd.
Manual
This phone was suppose to be a gift to my wife, but then I changed the idea and replaced the gift, and that’s how I actually own this phone :)
I have used this phone for good 50 hrs and hence I believe I could come up with pros and cons of the phone, therefore lets begin with Pros:-
Looks:- awesome is the right word for this phone, this phone has a feminine feeling, or I would say has that feminine touch, unlike other phones this phone looks soft, delicate and needs to handle with care, although I have dropped it thrice.
Clarity:- clarity on speaker is very good, some of you may not agree with me, but I compare this with Samsung x200, Nokia 6030; which were my former phones before razerv3i.
Memory:- Motorola gives 256 MB of card along with this, hence we have enough space to store what ever we feel like
ITunes:- this feature of Razer makes it unique phone among all the variants of same category, because it acts as an Ipod and the best part is that your friends / colleagues wont bother you to transfer the song to you as its all protected and cannot be transferred via blue tooth
Menus:- is simple, easy to use, initially there will be a trouble, but later as it goes its great to use
USB charging:- This feature of Motorola I have not heard in either in Samsung or in Nokia phones, the feature is good as all it requires a USB cable; hook it to the PC and bingo here you go, cell phone is getting charge... :)
Camera:- price tag of 11k when I bought and a camera of 1.3mps is good, because I am not that finicky about camera stuff, clarity of the picture is also good and worth what else we require this phone has dropped to 9k last heard and all this feature in 9k is cheap and best.
Now lets have negative shades of this phone:-
Battery backup:- its actually a concern, not more than 2 hrs of talk on phone and its virtually down, although USB charging is a great help to working professional but the trouble come in when we are not carrying the charger and we need charger, since its a not a common phone in market, getting / borrowing charger is a challenge.
Message:- SMS and MMS options and features are quite handy, I would agree that using SMS for motorazer and Nokia were great as compare to Samsung but the trouble with Motorazer is that we cannot create folder unlike Nokia, move message around to phone memory to memory card.... that’s the biggest draw back so far I have observed with this phone
hence conclusion that I drive is that this phone is good and I am slowly shifting from Nokia to Motorola as my next phone surely would be Motorola A1200, again a gift to my wife :)
comments are awaited
