I once used to criticise Motorola for there disability to bring world class products to the indian customers, and boy I was proved wrong when V3i was brought to india. Its grabs instant attention and believe me it is far more attractive then those under worked , over prized nokia n-series.
I was awestruck by the design and the phone looks terrific from any angle. I brought the phone at distributor prize(lesser the market prize )for Rs 12, 000 in April 2006. The phone comes with"anything under the sun "features, though one option I miss is FM Radio. Now if u think reading this article feels like going through a company brochure, the honeymoon ends here.
To start of- the not-so-good-things about the phone.
This one is definitely not for guys who don’t handle there Mobiles carefully(the group of ppl I am a part of). The filp is so delicate , i sometimes feel that my 5-month old niece could easily break it.
I am not at all impressed by the battery life.i can hardly play songs continuously for 3 to 3.5 hours(on full charge) before the phone gives a "Low Battery"Message.
I really feel folks at Motorola have taken customers for granted, for they have become so lazy that theydid not even care to change the navigation and the options any different from there earlier phones(Two of my friends have diffeerent models of motorola and the whole navigation looks the same).though this is not exactly a bad thing , it would have been nice if the company could do something extra for a "classy" phone like V3i
the volume (while playing mp3’s)is not very load and is not up to my liking(though the clarity is good). when compared to nokia n-series this one doesn’t stand a chance.
Now The good things....
awesome design , great looking phone with a great keypad(one of the many things I went for this phone).
the mp3 player is amazing.easy to load and great sound clarity(the earphones given are simply brillant).the 256 MB memory will ensure trips of 2-3 hours are enjoyble. you can load upto 40-50 mp3’s. this is where V3i beats most other phones in its category.most other phones dont offer u with such memory(upgradeable to 512 MB..i guess).
the camera is more than satisfactory. I hav few pictures taken which have great clarity. the 1.23 mega pixel camera does its work more than efficently.again the huge memory would allow u take as manypictures as u want.(i have clase to 200 pics in my phone)
and Finally do I suggest V3i to anyone??....My answer is yes if u think with ur heart....and no if u think with ur mind, but sometimes its not all that bad to listen to ur heart.
Wat say.........
bye....
