Slim, Smart n Sexy

Not long ago, there was a time when I was looking out for cell phones with some good features, looked cool n willing to be mine with around 12000 to spare.

I however had a tough time deciding on one, with so many models available in the market. I definetely didn’t want a Nokia ’66’ series though, with so many of ’em being almost in everyone’s hands. I liked the Razr which was by then hovering around my budget, but then again, memory was a major issue. Even as I was looking at Sony’s n Samsungs, there was this new Motorola Ad featuring the SLVR. I went to check it out and let me tell you, this is one really really impressive phone.

The first thing that struck me was the slim n sleek design in black with those gorgeous blue backlits ala the Razr. Now this phone would defintely bag the award for ’The Smartest Looking Candy Bar Mobile Phone’. So, the looks departments was a sealed conclusion.

However, Motorola models had a ’reputation’ in the memory department. I was really skeptical about that. Suddenly the store guy surprises me by telling that this phone has a TransFlash memory card of 128MB in addition to the extendable memory upto 512MB feature. Now this was really cool n totally unepected of Motorola for a refreshing change.

And then, there were all these good features like 262k Color, Blue Tooth, Cam, Video Capture n Playback, MP3 Player, PC Sync.....etc

Apart from the smart looking cell box(a pity its nonfunctional though), we also get a USB data cable and ear phones as standard.

A special mention must be made about the Mono Speaker available in this phone. I compared it with the much higher priced W 800 series of Sony and the SLVR was defintely much louder without the earphones. And the quality though not quite there with the Sony W, it was still really impressive and the earphones too recieve an A for their quality. The two games available are good enough with the Urban Asphalt GT being one game u shallbe hooked upon to. I

The PC Sync software available is worth mentioning where in we get a graphic version of the phone which makes, Making Calls, Sendin SMS’s, Data/file Transfers between PC n Phone really easy.

Coming to the cons of this phone, the biggest disappointment could be lack of a MegaPixel Cam, which is like a Achilees Heel for the phone. We get a VGA cam which is definetely good, but a Mega Pix is a Mega Pix. One more grouse is tht Video Capture is restricted to 30 secs per capture....they shud have linked it to the memory n given unlimited recording time.

And Obviously for its price, one can’t expect it to be a 3G, hav EDGE n unlimited applications.

I had also gone through all reviews through out the world on this phone n even the toughest Motorola critic gave it a 3 of 5. The average rating of this phone has been 4 of 5.

The best thing about this Phone was I got it for around Rs.10500/- which made it the best/too good to resist offer for a model available in the market rite now.

To conclude this Motorola SLVR L7 is a wonderful and a very capable phone which does almost everything pretty well. Hav a look at the phone, all its features and then its price, u’ll know tht its a great deal n a wonderful change from the Nokia World.

Highly Recommended!!!
