Well this is actually the 1st first hand hand phone that my mom got for me. before this I have used nokia 2100, 1108 and 2300, also the sony j300i, and moto C350e
the moment I saw this phone, I didnt ask for its features all I got it for was for its looks.
this is one of the first pieces sold in ghaziabad and I paid Rs.3950 for it. lator the price were slashed to Rs.3750.
this review is based upon my personal experience.
firstly the things I like about it
the brand name motoflip, well I think babyRAZR suits more.
this phone is entirely based on the motoRAZR and may be taken as the RAZR in a quick glimpse, which is not at all bad for an entry level phone. the RAZR itself is a good design, hence the enrgonomics of this phone are excellent.
this is the cheapest clamshell phone available in the market, and it sure is a looker.
mine is the one with silver body which looks really classy, though the black too looks great and tougher.
the sound clarity is amazing, be it handsfree or earpiece, the earpiece sound is so loud that in a quiet room people can easily make out the conversation at full in call volume.
the ringtone sound is loud enough, and the embedded ringtones are good too, they attract attention. this phone only supports amr and polyphonic midi files, but if u use GPRS then u can easily find them for free on the internet. the inbuilt memory of 634 kb may sound funny, but can hold lots of 128*128 wallpapers and poly tunes
the best part I think is the keypad of this phone. it is made out of one piece plastic sheet making in dust proof. also being based on the razr its looks gr8 and is excellent to use.
signal reception is great, I can say this cuz the place where my college is we barely get any network, but still I am able 2 receive calls and sms.
battery backup, unlike older motos, is faboulus, motorola has realy worked on this, battery can run foralmost 4 days if 2-3 calls are received in a day, and on stand by, it went for a week(i am not kidding) after a full charge with zero usage.
the clarity of the screen is excellent despite its small size, the glass used is also of very high quality.
the phone is extremely light and compact in size, yes it can slip in the side pockets of my jeans.
the status indicators for missed calls and sms really look funky
the radio is also good, the handsfree has sound quality comparable to sony ericsson.
the phonebook memory of 600 entries and sms memorey of 250 is more than enough for its class.
this is one thing I really loved over all the other phones placed together that I used in the past.
moto service backup is good. no problems with this set but the C350e I had was replaced in the service period when it had problems in the speaker.
now few things I dislike.
there is no speaker phone.
the screen though clear is small, despite the room in the design 2 incorporate a bigger screen.
no data cable. GPRS too is a bit slow.
the silver model is prone 2 scratches, go for the black model its scratch free.
the plastic quality feels delicate but I havent felt any loose parts in it despite dropping it several times
the ultra relieble battery takes hours to recharge. yes u cant really leave it for a while and expect it 2 be fully charged.
a few rough edes in the design feel like an eyesore, like on the outside just below the moto logo there is a gap also similar gap can be seen just above the earpiece.
overall a great phone, with a few flaws, but hey nobody is perfect
i have no regretions and no plans for a new phone for another year
