On my recent visit to Kolkata I came across this place on Park Street. I was on a hunt for good Bengali food and authentic too. So I entered this place and was impressed by the dark lighting and seating arrangement.
Also, I noticed that every single attendant, manager of this place was above the age of 50 for sure. Our attendant was pretty cool and it gave me a very homely feeling. The menu was quite impressive and my desire to eat the authentic Bengali food was reaching its goal.
We ordered Lobster Tandoori in starters – This was a super stealer, the size of the lobster just made me and my best friend crazy. The Masala had penetrated through every part of the lobster and gave it a Masala juicy flavor.
For the main course we had ordered Chingri Malai Curry(Prawns malai curry), Kasha Mangsho and white Rice. The malai curry and the kasha mangsho bought out the taste of every spice that was used. I wanted to eat an authentic bong food and Moulin Rouge served me the same.
We had coke by our side. The service was pretty quick as compared to the age of the attendants and manager.
For desserts, our attendant suggested us to have a Tooti-Frooti Ice Cream and it was worth every penny.
I enjoyed by visit to Moulin Rouge and was so happy with our attendant that we gave him a chunky huge amount as tip. He earned it!
No wonder they say, old is gold.
