I WATCHED THIS MOVIE 4 YEARS AGO IN THEATRES.RECENTLY I WATCHED THE MOVIE IN A DVD.AND I STILL FIND IT REFRESHING AND PATH-BREAKING.
PLOT:
THE STORY IS ACTUALLY WAFER-THIN.GAUTHAM(SURIYA) IS A RESTAURANT OWNER, WHO HATES WOMEN(FOR REASONS UNKNOWN).HIS FRIEND, KANNAN(NANDHA) IS JUST THE OPPOSITE, WHO LIKES TO OGLE AT WOMEN.BUT HE IS SINCERELY IN LOVE WITH A GIRL, MAHA.TRISHA AND KANNAN’S FAMILY HAPPEN TO BE RELATIVES.THEY PLAN TO FIX A MARRIAGE FOR BOTH OF THEM.
MEANWHILE, GAUTHAM IS FOLLOWED BY A MYSTERIOUS LOVER, AND HE NEVER CARES TO FIND OUT WHO IT IS.KANNAN SEEKS THE HELP OF GAUTHAM TO SOLVE HIS PROBLEM.IN THE TURN OF EVENTS, GAUTHAM IS MADE TO BELIEVE THAT THE"MYSTERIOUS LOVER" IS NONE OTHER THAN TRISHA.WELL, LOVE IS SOMETHING WHICH COMES TO A MAN, WITHOUT EVEN HIS CONTROL.GAUTHAM STARTS EXPERIENCING THE FEELING OF LOVE.JUST WHEN HE WANTS TO PROPOSE HIS LOVE, HE GETS A RUDE SHOCK THAT TRISHA LOVES SOMEONE ELSE, NOT HIM.
GAUTHAM, STILL RECOVERING FROM THE SHOCK, SOLVES THE "LOVE"PROBLEM OF HIS FRIEND, KANNAN.JUST, WHEN WE WERE WONDERING WHY TRISHA, INSPITE OF LOVING ANOTHER GUY, CAUSED SUCH A FURORE IN GAUTHAM’S LIFE, WE GET THE ANSWER IN THE CLIMAX IN A MORE STUNNING, AWESOME WAY, WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED.

HE IS THE "BACK-BONE"OF THE FILM.HE GIVES A STUNNING PERFORMANCE AS A GUY, WHO HATES THE CONCEPT OF LOVE.ESPECIALLY THE SCENE WHEN HE DESTROYS THE LOVE OF HIS FRIEND’S COLLEAGUE.AND HIS TRANSFORMATION, AFTER FALLING IN LOVE IS ABSOLUTELY A DELIGHT TO WATCH.
SURIYA, as an actor has grown leaps and bounds, with some amazing streak of movies.Certainly, he is the one actor, who has got the power of "voice modulation", which his contemporary actors dont have.He is the one actor, after rajni, who has got that powerful screen-presence.Its indeed amusing that he is not the no.1 at the moment.May be he should do more movies like"AARU", which the masses(unfortunately!!)seem to like more.NEVERTHELESS, a great actor who has the potential to become the superstar in the longer run.
NANDHA:
He certainly makes a great debut, in this movie.Especially, the scenes involving him and suriya.its unfortunate that this guy is struggling to find a decent palce in the industry.
DIRECTOR AMEER:
Ameer makes a stunning debut as a director, and lives up to the reputation of bala’s assistant.Right from the start, nothing happens on predicted lines.He also proves that he is no dud, when it comes to action sequences.(the fight before climax, simply electrifying).A very promising director, indeed.
YUVAN SHANKAR RAJA:
He gives life to the movie with his pleasing songs, and excellent re-recording(aka his papa).the pop song, a real treat.
MOUNAM PESIYADHE-A FILM WHICH HAS THE POTENTIAL TO TAKE THE TAMIL CINEMA TO THE NEXT LEVEL.THREE CHEERS!!!!
