Mount Abu a small hill station, fairly populated yet very rich in its culture and exhibition of various handicraft. My family and I visit Mount Abu every time we visit India. Mount Abu is away from city chaos and offers fresh air and breath taking scenery. Mount Abu is not only well known for the fresh air and handicrafts but also for a pligrimage Ambaji.
Folks who believe in Devi, know the strength of Ambaji. The main reason we go to Abu is to stay over night so we can go to Ambaji next morning. Ambaji is about 30-45 minutes from Abu, you can hire a taxi from Abu to go to Ambaji. I have been to Ambaji several times (probaly 20 or so) in my life. The magic of this temple is unexplainable only catch is you need to believe. It is a white temple where Devi exists outside the city market. The other place in Ambaji to visit is Gabbar, a small mountain few hundred feet high, I cant remember the exact count of steps I believe it is approximately 700 to 900, but now they have an electric cart (trolley) that takes you from ground to the top.
On the top of Gabbar, is the real Devis existence. Beyound clouds and close to the visible sky, there is a tale of Lord Shivas and Parvati.
Well, since they put the trolley, monkeys are hard to spot, but if you happen to want to climb up the mountain, you will encounter several monkeys on the way and will be able to enjoy the actual picture of nature from high above the sea level beyond the clouds.
I guess I have talked too much and given more idea about the place that I am getting lost with my point. In short, Abu is a beautiful place and Ambaji is its heart. If you go to Abu, you should go to Ambaji and make a wish......You know anything asked from heart and true attempt WILL come true.
