This is what MouthShut has done to its members keeping boredom away from the members.
I don’t remember how I got hooked up to this site way back in Apr, 2003. I think I should have googled it while searching for some product which I would have then intended to buy. Promptly I signed in this site and my first review was written by me in 2-3 days of my signing up.
Brick Bats
My first review was on India - General under : Overseas Attractions by this time there were already well established Msians who welcomed me with my first rating a "Not Useful". It took me a while (2 days) to digest this and not to be discouraged I tried to re edit my review and get to know that this was no childs play to write a review and have it in such form that everyone may like it. Now nearing my 100th review I really feel of have evolved a lot and my writing has changed a lot.
Writing is an art but which can be mastered through practice....
I just remember a very old saying in Tamil "Sithiramum Kai pazhakam Senthamizhum Naa pazhakam."* Meaning Drawing (Art) is mastered through practise of hands and Speaking is mastered through practise of tongue...
Mouthshut is a site that provides that avenue to practise your writing skills. One might argue that while there are lots of blogging sites why mouthshut is different from these the reason is one which is hard to explain but as in the Advertisement of Maggy tomoto sause "Its Different".
Teaching life the hard way
Life has always been kind to me but it has taught things to me in the hard way. I consider mouthshut unique in. So I urge you all who intend to profit through this site not to be discouraged by the ratings the comments you get here but to take it as a challenge and prove them all wrong. In life there might not be a second chance but here in Mouthshut there sure is a lot many opportunity to grow.
Mouthshut had been a place where reviews dominated and writing here was fun after the advent of Diary and Albums although review writing has lost its sheen MS team with their constand effort encouraging people to write in selected areas tries to bring back the charm of review. My usrge to Mouthshut would be to have reviews the primary item in Mouthshut as before. Bringing in newer ideas (Sms, photo and Diary) are good but the focus should always be Reviews thats what the title of this site still says (MOVIE Review, HOTEL Review, MOBILE PHONE Review, BOOK Review, CAR Review, CAMERA Review - MouthShut.com).
Inching towards my Hundred it gives me a feeling just similar to what Sachin Tendulkar would be while nearing his hundred.. I have slowed down and do not want to get carried away... I’ll take my time to reach this milestone
