I have been here for over a month now. I guess I am qualified enough to account my views and experiences here. It seems every member who has been a regular, at one time or another writes this review. There are more than 200 reviews on this topic speaks for itself. It is my turn now to express my feelings.
Overall it has been a great feeling. I had never thought that I would do any sort of writing at all. All the writing I did was for my examinations and nothing else. Doing it for fun and that too regularly!! I would not have believed it from myself!! But here I am writing again. How things change ….
More than the website, the community here makes it a great place. I have been on other similar websites like https://ciao.com. The community there is not as vibrant as here (or maybe I understand a place more when there are more of Indians than British). But the comments there are nowhere as good as the comments here (half the fun of reading a review is in the comments section). It is also the community that accepts any new member and reads and rates their reviews.
The reason I was hooked here was because I got a mail saying Cousin2 has added a comment on my review. When I got there again I saw many people have rated my review. It was a nice feeling that some people have benefited and appreciated what I have written. It was those things that got me addicted to this place. (We went outstation for a weekend and I was having withdrawal symptoms like irritation, restlessness etc LOL)
What I liked about the website is its easy to use interface. I took me just a few hours to understand how to get around the website. It was very intuitive and user friendly. It is very important because if the interface was not very good then we would not see so many newcomers that we see.
However I have a few qualms about the website. I do not know if any one has ever read the terms of service, but there are some concerns. It seems that any review written here on MS is licensed to MS irrevocably and if we wish to post it anywhere else we have to ask for their permission. I know my writings are pretty useless to anyone outside, but any creative work published here is there property now. If ever I feel that I have created a masterpiece I would definitely not post it here.
Another concern is the MS point. I still don’t know its use. Redemption has been suspended since 2002. This is giving MS a lot of bad publicity.
Otherwise it’s a great website. (I though do not like the color combination and the design seems a bit amateurish) but these things do not affect the community and the content.
I have learnt a lot from people here and hope to do so even more in the future.
