Me and my association with Mouthshut has been a year old. It was not an interesting encounter so I?m avoiding the mention here. The site was too simple when I became a member but I could feel the energy and the liveliness. The wonderful concept of anybody becoming a member and getting the privilege of writing one?s opinions was an effort worth appreciation.
So, even I tried my hand at writing, and wrote a review on Sa re ga ma. As this was my first hand writing experience so was not sure about the response but would say got a very warm response along with some tips on writing. Since then I have written 34 reviews and each review has been an experience.
Mouthshut :
This site gives the common man a general platform to write his or her opinion on any products/services and also advises. It helps the consumer in taking decisions to buy any product or service. The best part is that the consumer get to read all types of opinions on a product or service, which makes the consumer aware of the pros and cons of the product or the service that he or she is keen on knowing. Above all these it is a delight to all those aspiring writers who have that extra flair for writing. Moreover, you are introduced to some passionate writers here on MS.

There are different categories which are listed in the alphabetical order which are self explanatory. The different categories are catalogued in a very self explanatory way. One would come to know as one browses the site. And if one doesn?t find the product that he or she is looking for then it can be requested through a mouthpad. And the reviews would start flowing..in..
Reviews wanted :
The right bottom corner of the home page of Mouthshut is the section of Reviews wanted segment. The list of 5 topics are displayed while to see the whole list one has to click on more? The segment is the most sought after for the active writers and reviews written on this topics are likely to be featured in the hot reviews section (just my observation?). So next time when you write a review, make sure you go for the topic listed in the reviews wanted section? (again my advise?)

The section appears on the right hand upper corner which showcases the latest high ranked means highly recommended review on product or service. The review changes as and when a new highly ranked review is submitted. Same is the case with Low ranked reviews..
Review of the day, Star Writer and Ongoing Contest
Review of the day popularly known as ROTD appears on the left hand side upper corner which highlights the product on which the review is written along with the author?s name. It?s a privilege for the writer when his review is selected and displayed as ROTD..
Just below is the column of Star Writers, a photo of the writer and along with the title as Star Writer is displayed which again is the result of the efforts of the person. It is judged by the ratings on his or her review by the fellow members of the site. Again a privilege for the members of this site.
Below the Star Writer Column is the segment of Ongoing Contest. The details of the ongoing contest is displayed here. Mouthshut has different contests for its members for different occasions which keeps the fun and excitement intact on the site.

Conclusion
Untill Mouthshut, I never felt writing on anything. But after being a member of mouthshut, and reading the various reviews, I really felt that sense of achievement. For a person like me, who did not see beyond home and work. This site has helped me explore myself by keeping my mouthshut. And most importantly don?t forget to rate the review that you read and hopefully do comment as comments are the most awaited part of any review.
