Straight from the heart - Part I

Happy Diwali to everybody who is a part of this wonderful website.  I just hope everyone has a blast out here with loads of crackers and lots and lots of sweets.

My dear brothers and sisters of MS,

In the countdown to my 100th review, I would like to share some thoughts on mouthshut.com and its members in 3 parts.  All these 3 reviews are solely dedicated to Mouthshut and its members, my beloved brothers and sisters out here.  Now read on.

There is something called as the “Turning Point” in everyone’s life and that turning point came in the form of “Mouthshut” to me.  Right from the beginning I wanted to have friends, lots of them, with whom I could share my likes and my dislikes, my joy and sorrow, highs and lows and everything under the sun.  But then, I was not so lucky in having friends who trusted me.  It is MS that gave me the opportunity to have friends, true friends who wished good for me, who wanted me to improve and who motivated me to keep it going.  Well, ultimately, MS gave me people who trusted me.  I am so grateful to MS and also to everyone who has posed trust in me.

Well, when I first joined MS, May the 26th, 2002, I thought this to be a place where I could express my views on things I owned or I knew.  So, I started off, so to say, in a sedate fashion.  Little did I know, at that time that MS had people who cared for their fellow members.  As days passed and as I read more and more reviews and started improving as a writer, I realized the importance of the support, my fellow members gave me. It was their motivation, encouragement and inspiration that made me stride ahead with confidence.  If today I am a good writer, a moderately good writer, then it got to be because of all those people who stood by me. This is where the importance of trusted circle comes into picture.  I shall let you know my thoughts on it.

Trust is basically a firm belief in the reliability, truth or strength of a person.  Trusted circle in mouthshut gives one an opportunity to pose trust on someone. Whenever you feel that a writer can be relied upon to give great reviews, you can add him/her in your trust list.  This actually has a direct bearing on the writer.  As he/she looks into the trust list growing, they gain in confidence and fee that they can be a good writer.  They’ll strive to become better. Naturally they’ll improve. The same goes to you.  As your trusted list keeps increasing, you feel confident of writing the very best and will try to improve.  On the whole this only helps the community as we get to judge a product better for the reviews would be comprehensive.  Ultimately that is the goal.

There is a distrust circle where you can distrust someone.  But in my opinion, I think this is unnecessary.  Either you trust someone or you don’t.  But then that is my personal opinion because I shall never distrust anybody for I believe in giving everybody another chance.  But Yes, if you don’t have faith in someone to deliver then you can

distrust the member.  In the same way you can also be distrusted by somebody.  So think before you ink.

Why does one need a trust list?  Okay.  Let me put it this way.  Mouthshut is an interactive community where opinions are shared.  Why call it a community?  For me it is a family.  Don’t you think, in a family people should pose trust on each other for the smooth running.  It is the same out here.  More so, it gives you an opportunity to make friends, make great friends, like I have made.

What a trust list means to me?  Well, my trust list is very very important to me.  As people keep trusting me, it only indicates that people expect something big from me every time I get to write.  So it makes me give comprehensive reviews out here and hence I can avoid disappointment for all who trust me.  The same goes to people who I trust.  I don’t want them to under-perform in any given circumstance.

Some People whose trust list I would want to make it to:

Just-did-it:  I think JeDI masterji is one person who is responsible for the writer I am.  His constructive criticism and open minded comments and frank statements have always motivated me to do better.  But I believe, I still haven’t convinced masterji as for writing good reviews.  I vow to work towards it and I hope to make it to his trust list one day.

Santoz:  Being one of my best friends out here, I am raring to get into his trust list and I hope with some hard work and better stuff, I would make it.

Pooj:  She is one of the sisters I got in MS.  She has seen me through my early days here till now, and I would really be happy if I happen to get into her trust list.  I’ll work towards it as sincerely as possible.

Suyog:  You can convince a rock but not Suyog.  What a writer!  His sense of humour and splendid sarcasm is unmatched.  I am working really hard to make it to his trust list.

Ranjran:  Ranjith, he is the most straight-forward person I have ever met.  Speaks everything frankly and convincing him too is as tuff as it can get.  I hope with some better reviews, I would make it to his trust list too.

Concluding the review, I would like to thank everybody who have trusted me and well, I am happy to have made it to the trust list of many. People like Spookaay, Cousin2, Pavithrashinde, Abilashm, Dazzlingpiscean, Relsr, Meleahk1, Achougoo, Trust_me, Soniya, Jilmil, Pete, Santoz, Ranjran, Just-did-it, Madlalya, Sudhaparikh, Teena_Sri, Lickwid, Suyog, Pree_16, Bhavna, Arunroy, Ashford, Ray1952, Yamraaj, Corbett, Srinivasan and Mistletoe are very special to me.  Building a trusted circle is very much important in MS for it would always be a motivating factor to perform.  So, I call on every member in MS to pose trust on fellow members, build a good trusted circle, develop healthy relationships, make friends and bring happiness and peace out here.

To be continued.
