Worth watching more than once!

Story is like - two bachelor friends, who are cine artists, take a new flat in an apartment on rent. There they happen to meet a girl who is deaf and dump. One of the guys falls in love with the girl and they come to know the whereabouts of her through her friend and colleague. Then the happenings between these four persons have been narrated with a mix of other characters, where they are all connected with each other in a way or other.

The characters will haunt you even after watching the movie - it has got the magic to make such an affect. The movie takes us gradually from casual platform to a serious level in the end. But then, it offers lighter elements to the viewers at regular intervals through out.

The movie triumphs amazingly in the script and direction department. The script-writer made a well knitted script from the thin story and the director executed it in perfection giving entertainment & curiosity to the viewers. One will never feel bored at any point of time while watching the movie.

Prithviraj, the hero and one among the friends-duo, does a class act. He proves once again through the variance in the range of acting, whether it is delivering the lighter moments or serious pieces here and there, that he is going to be the next superstar in South India. But, while doing comedy, the conscious-effort he puts in will not go unnoticed at many places! At the same time, he handles serious scenes with élan and is terrific in one or two places. Once he gets the maturity by doing more and more roles in the coming years, no doubt, we will see a wonderful actor cum star in Prithviraj.

Prakash Raj, the other character of the duo, is found to be more energetic than Prithviraj! He has lived up to the expectation of the role it demanded. The easy-going-kind character offers enormous entertainment to the viewers. He is spontaneous, witty and simple. Prakash Raj’s range can be assessed those who have seen another tamil movie Ghilli, where in he handled an hard-core villain character.

Swarnamalya, the colleague of the heroine has performed superbly. She has proved that she is the right person for doing the role. In a way, this shows the skill of the director in choosing the actors for his movie - simply amazing picks.

Now the Heroine, none other than Jyothika (Archana in the movie) stuns the viewers, in the form of a deaf & dump girl. If, Swarnamalya was a breeze, then Jyothika is a thunder-storm! The speed with which she uses the language of the deaf & dump persons is mind-blowing. At no point of time, one will see the actor Jyothika in her. She has been immersed in the character that deep. It is, no doubt, an award winning performance and if she doesn’t get an award for the role, then only there is any surprise!

Different psychological levels of the characters in various situations have been shown in-depth in the movie and the director and script writer have really succeeded in their efforts in executing such scenes without exaggerations.

One character in the movie has got a mysterious mental problem. His son dies in an accident in 1984. It was, naturally, a shock for his parents. But, unfortunately, his father becomes mentally retarded after the incident. Now, the father character blabbers with everybody with a feeling that it is still the year 1984 running and his son has just left for some place in his bike. He talks about Indra Gandhi’s assassination, MJR ruling in Tamil Nadu etc, as if these issues have happened recently. The twist happens with respect to this character is a revelation shown at the end of the movie.

There are lot many characters, who come and go in regular intervals and leaves a foot print in the viewers mind. Two-three scenes shown in the deaf & dump school are very touchy. The need of caring the retarded persons around our world is underlined and the movie gives a strong message for doing some thing for the sake of such unlucky persons. What I feel is the government has to increase the list of such schools/institutions under the tax exemption scheme so that lot many people shall be benefited out of it.

Interestingly, I don’t think much money would have gone in for the production as the total story happens in and around the said apartment and no foreign locales were chosen to shoot and the movie was superhit!

Cinematography is okay and so are the songs. But, no number is remarkable enough to remain in the mind, but it adds flavour to the entertainment aspect of the film.

Worth watching more than once!
