Holy cow.... . whatta great reviews about mphasis. I am with dis company for nearly 10 years and dont hesitate to say you guys used much decent language compared to the work culture in mphasis. Mphasis is one best example of how a Indian company can destroy the professional culture of other companies such as EDS, AIG and HP.
Fellas. you need to know a lot about dis company before joining or do business with them. This company is dying and soon will be extinct, courtesy of its useless management and staff. The company is the result of ego of a guy called jerry rao (this guys actual name is jaitirth rao but changed his name to jerry to try to be an European). He started mphasis only to counter Infosys (now you know why both names sound similar). Jerry Rao does everything that Narayana Moorthy does. If NRN pees in the evening, Jerry too did before NRN. Mphasis board meeting was scheduled 1 day ahead of Infosys. In real, mphasis has no goal or future right from d beginning.
Most of the senior management staff are good only to work in govt. offices and unfit for professional companies. To save their a$$, they keep playing all politics and bring in dirty work culture. BPO is nothing but a coolie type of work here. If you work for Delivery organisation, you know what to expect. Most managers consider their own wellbeing above their team, company or clients. If you show any smart or intelligent power of yourself, you are sure to be screwed up. You need to talk and act smart in order to survive. Working.... who cares? You can find many with fake resumes in dis company.
Performance appraisal is just joke. its a gift of the HR to the managers to legally use against anyone that dey dont like. HR, Resourcing group, admin are all utter bullshit group good for nothing. Every single staff are worried about their salary and safety. If you expect prof. environment, this is not d right place. Delivery managers dont own their own project since they are unfit. Managers are half baked jokers. I remember having come across one manager who was not able to even spell simple words but living in US for 6 years. This guys ppt presentation to customer leadership was the best joke in d client meetings. When I spoke to his manager, he called dis guy as a valuable gem who kept getting 4 rating consistently. God save d company... errrrr.... clients.
Dis company lacks basic ability to survive in the pro-world of 2day. I guess it should go back to its basic business of. body shopping. As I said already, the disastrous work culture and standard of mphasis has screwed the professional work culture of EDS, AIG and HP. When HP decided to takeover EDS around the world, they kept mphasis out of that M & A process due to its worst record as coolie company. Also, such merger attempt is not supported by any of the Mphasis senior leadership for fear of losing their importance and not able to meet the slightly higher standard of HP.
Finally if you are looking for anything honest professional and white collar type of profession, dis is not the place. If you are looking for a job and salary, probably mphasis suits well. Soon this junkyard will be history, say in anoter 2-3 years. Already, most of its clients seen what dis company is capable of. None wants to come to mphasis for business. So instead of complaining about the company, change yourself and adopt to reality. Neither you nor I can change the workstyle. Thats mphasis way. Dats how 80% of the people are surviving in d company for years.
