This is to caution the public that the MTDC cottages in Matheran are too unclean and situated in a unfriendly stretch with no security at all. There are no eating joints nearby and the food served at the MTDC canteen is awful and expensive. The clips available in the MTDC website were so charming but the actual experience is very bad. I really don’t understand why a progressive corporation has to keep a wonderful property in a pathetic condition. The charges are not so cheap also.
By paying similar amount, one can easily get clean lodges near the station and the options for food, entertainment are vast. Except for people who are nature lovers with lots of packed food with them who don’t mind smelly, dirty rooms with totally unclean pillows and bedsheets, this place is a NO...No....Out of bounds place. In spite of its proximity to the HO of the corporation, why the place has been lying in this horrible condition ! No body knows.
