Bordi beach is the nearest beach to thane. Road travel is very comforting. The beach is muddy but one can have a dip as well as play for long in it. The coastline of the beach is safe for children. You can enjoy in the beach during the high tides as the coastline is otherwise 1-1 1/2 kms. inside. At first we found the rooms very depressive, but then got adjusted.
The mdtc resorts is at the best locations as it is very much accessible to the beach. During the high tide the sea almost touches the boundary of the resort. We had booked special deluxe room, but I found the tent houses more comfortable & clean. The biggest asset of the tent house is that all of them have A/Cs. All the special & deluxe sea view rooms are non-A/C. As we booked online we did not have the idea about it, so had to face the hot winds during the day.
The view from deluxe sea view room is very nice compared to the deluxe tents. The nights are cold. The beach at night looks very beautiful. For people who are vegs.one can enjoy food at anand resort where u get punjabi, gujarathi thalis. There is also a chinese open restaurant where u get all kinds of chat and chinese food when u go further crossing the anand resort. The biggest drawback of the mdtc sea view deluxe/special rooms is at they don’t have A/Cs so in the day its very difficult to sit in the room.
