Review : Plan B of the mtnl internet connection is exclusively for internet connection. charges are 700/- Rs. + 8% service taxes; deposit is Rs. 3000/-. Initially mtnl charges Rs. 1000/- payable by cheque and the balance Rs. 2000/- is charged in monthly installments of Rs. 500/- for a period of 4 months. Connectivity is good at 38500 bps. It is very good since I am a consumer activist.
In plan B you have unlimited excess, whereas in plan A mtnl will charge basic of Rs. 500/- Connectivity charges from VSNL etc will be extra as applicable and the Number of hours used.
The only disadvantage in plan B is that it is mainly for surfing and it does not support Outlook Express.
One can only face problem connecting the internet if there is earthing in your line, the internet connection will get disconnected every now and than, this happens very rearly, for this you have to contact the external division engineer and ask him to check for cable fault. Problem is very seldom.
