I took MTNL ADSL connection in December 2004.
Day 1, the person visiting me could not establish the connection. He retruned on Day 2 and with great difficulty established the connection. After about a week, it started faltering.
The ADSL signal in the modem (which is for line detection) blinks continously. This should be steady to establish connection.
On calling MTNL they said that my telephone wire need to be changed. OK, I changed it. Still nothing improved.
Next they said there are problems with my Operating System. Got windows re-installed (I have original XP). Nope ... does not work.
During last 4 months I have called them atleast 10 times and everytime there is a new excuse. Surprisingly, no one ever bothered to visit me to check the problem.
However, I must admit, I am getting excellent lip service. Everyday I get numerous calls inquiring if it is working and on saying no , there is a prompt reply -- we are checking
Dont waste your money on this worthless service.
Added on April 18:
After pursuing for 4 months, they finally replaced the Modem. However, seeing horrible connection I decided to cancel the service.
It has been 3 months since I have cancelled the service but they are dilligently billing me for the same every month. I have to make two trips to MTNLs account office to get my bill corrected ..... beware.
