Okay, I have been away from this site for quite some time, and when I am back, I read so many reviews actually praising MTNL ADSL connection.
I, as someone who spends 18 hours on the Internet, downloading and browsing, find it rather surprising.
People, MTNL is taking you for a royal ride, and any royal ride is worth the same, royal!
Let me clarify..
The charges, whatever you are paying, 399, 499, 599, 699, whatever.. is NOT YOUR USAGE CHARGE.
It is just a RENT you are paying for BEING ON THE INTERNET. You can ONLY USE MTNL ADSL in that amount till ONLY 400 MB per month. After that, it is almost ONE RUPEE PER MB. ( A normal wrestlemania file will be anything from 1 MB to 10 MB.)
Secondly, MTNL ADSL BROADBAND IS NOT UNLIMITED. It has a DOWNLOAD LIMIT of 400 MB/ month. Yes, you read it right, it is PER MONTH. and 400 MB per month is nothing else than stupid babudom idea that people will use the net tremblingly to just send some damn email to their grandchildren in the Netherlands.
This download limit is NOT RESTRICTED TO ONLY YOUR DOWNLOADING SOFTWARES OR FILES.
If you even open MS on your MTNL ADSL connection, it WILL EAT INTO YOUR DOWNLOAD LIMIT.
I shall not speak about it’s service, because right now, I am sitting on my Sify connection, for which I pay 299 Rs per month, and the brand new MTNL ADSL router is lying dead in the inside room, AFTER TWO WEEKS OF CHECKING and AFTER A MTNL PERSONNEL CAME AND INSTALLED IT.
