Unreliable connection, poor customer service

I subscribed for the mtnl broadband connection on 5-feb-2013. After multiple reminders I  got the connection on 23-Feb-2013, I got the internal wiring done by third party electrician, setup my modem and router on my own( as the MTNL engineer was not able to setup) and still waiting for the landline instrument. Still got a bill of Rs 874 without any usage. There is not a single day when I am able to browse internet uninterrupted. Last 6 days there is no dial-tone, because of some cable theft(seems to be so weird). Further details are:


The site says Rs. 300 is charged for configuration and setup of modem, if their engineers are not able to setup the same then we should not be charged for it. If Internal wiring is not done by any of MTNL executive then how can customer be charged for that. And how can any company take a month’s time to deliver a telephone set to the customer. I have been charged for more than Rs 874 for no service.


And that’s not all, the connection from outside my house was done on 23-Feb-2013, but since then there not a single day when I am able to browse internet uninterrupted. I have logged 6 complaints since then but have not received a single call back. From last 6 days there is no dial tone on my phone. The MTNL cable attached outside my house is hanging and has become a swing for the birds. The same should be clamped well to give our city a clean look and provide uninterrupted services to the customer.


Lastly regarding the online complaint. I tried to send email using my login account but the same is failing. Surprisingly all other links are working in the login except the submit button on email link. If you log a complaint once then you will not be able to log the complaint again, nor will you be able to check the status or progress of the same.


Sent email to GM, got the reply immediately. But it was a one liner "R/Sir due to cable theft near Kama Cinema, Land Lines and broad Band services are effected."  with no expected time of restoration of service and no response to the other issues raised.


In all, I would rate MTNL as the worst service provider I have ever seen.
