VOILA!
surprise surprise.
My IPTV is now working. Surprisingly its working . Its really working.
The reception is sharper than DVD player.
Apparently all reasons givien by them earlier(see below) were not true. They have done some tweaking of the settings at their end(their server.) They are not telling me what they have done.
There have been no changes done at my home.
Its impotant that theres nothing wrong with my router and with my STB.

I have been having the same problem as you have been and the dates are also identical. These guys are really taking us for a ride. I have asked them to replace the STB. Lets hope they do replace it and my television connection starts working. Strangely its not MTNL that has failed in providing good service this time around its the people at IOL broadband who have failed and are not straightforward enough to accept their mistakes.
The engineers at IOL broadband keep finding fault with my internet connection. That comes as a real surprise. I have been using MTNL Broadband for more than a year and I havenot had any problems with my connection. And yet when I complain to IOL broadband they keep insisting that my internet connection is faulty. This company IOL broadband is run by cheats. users beware.
in fact I was so glad that MTNL is outsourcing its service provider. Now I will have to eat my words.
I am reconsidering my subscription as well.
I have read a few reviews here stating that IOL broadband is a good company. I have a feeling that those reviews have been put up by interested parties. Be forewarned. They are liars and cheats as well.

Today an engineer from IPTVY IOL Broadband finally paid a visit. I am a novice with computers and software. am only interested in watching my television. I suspect theres something wrong with the STB they have provided. Its a really cheap STB and am sure MTNL as well as IOL are in a position to provide a better STB.
The engineer used the test STB and I saw that it the television had stopped rebooting and had got stuck at the customer id stage. obviously since the mac numbers are not matching. to my ignorant mind its proof that theres a problem with my STB.
I am too tired to run after these guys and have decided to surrender myself to GOLIATH. I called them to disconnect my service. they make a very big fuss to disconnect services.
I only hope now that I am not billed for a service that is not being provided to me. MTNLs billing department is really notorious for charging for services even after they have been discontinued.
I will certainly be subscribing to the IPTV service after one year by which time I am certain all the bugs will be cleared and the service quality will be escalated.
