In the beginning MTNL in order to make customers, served very well. The installation time was just a day or
two AND THE SPEED WAS AWESOME. The customer service and technical support from the first day were worst, however speed was so good and them downtime was so low that I didnt get much of a chance to ask them for a help.
I dont know why and how (logically saying: overload on server due to high number of customers) MTNL seems to have reduced the speed. I was getting a download speed between 150 to 250kbps, which has now reduced to 24 to 27kbps. An Awesome Loyalty Bonus Pack for being MTNL user for so long.
I cant live with this speed and the only reason 70% of the people signed up for MTNL was because of speed
and rest 30% signed because of cost. There have been 90 disconnections by now ( in a month) in my area, including me.
I hope this might have helped other connections with some extra Kbs of download speed. Suggestions for MTNL: Increase the speed, at least up to a level where it stands as a Broadband connection and we could call it a broadband connection.
Terminate/Retire all your staff members and hire some well educated/knowledgeable people those who at least know what a broadband service is (this includes your Managers and General Managers as well). Please update your 197 directory.
In order to find my Area Managers number, I had to call them 25 times and finally I got an incorrect number of a Manager for a different area , who very kindly gave me my Hopeless/Helpless Area managers number.
