MTNL earning money without Investing ’’Dlink ADSL Modem 502-T’’ (Printed MRP Rs:4000/-) People are selling it for around Rs:3000/- in Bombay market.
MTNL Charges
a) Installation Charges Rs:500/
b) Deposit (non-refundable) Rs:500/
c) Testing Charges Rs:300/-
Total (to be paid in first bill) Rs:1300/-
d) Rent per month Rs:80/-
The Above modem is available for Rs:1950 inclusive of taxes in local market at GOA for a common man buying one single piece, means if MTNL is buying it in bulk, it will cost half the price. So MTNL is not investing any money to buy the modem, all money is collected in the begining. Still a rent of Rs:80/- is charged every month.
WHAT YOU CAN SAVE IN ONE YEAR if you buy one of your own.

d) Rent Rs:80 x 12 Months Rs:960/-
Total Rs:1460
In case if you are applying for a new landline to use ADSL, a)Registration Charges Rs:500/ is waived off, all together its Rs:1960 which is equal to brand new modem.
I just got a modem from Goa, I will write about the service once it get connected.
SUGGESTION: If you don’t have much knowledge about computers don’t buy your own modem, MTNL will simple blame your modem in case of any problem later.
