I bought MTS datacard postpaid connection on 6th Dec 2014 for Rs 999/- from sec 22 Gurgaon mkt MTS Shop for my office located at sector 43 Gurgaon on main road & to use on wi-fi system only. The Shopseller told me that you shall get speed around 2-4 Mbps irrespective of claim of upto 9.8 Mbps and if you dont get the speed, you can return the datacard and get full refund within 15 days from purchase date and subject to usage not more than 500 Mb.
Once I started using this, the speed was not stable and on wi-fi was within 0.2 - 0.5 Mbps but I tried for 3-4 days at different times during the day still the same. and it used to disconnect many times in an hour. Then we contacted the shop seller within the time frame for refund conditions but he told us there is a procedure to refund and you have to first complaint the MTS customer care who will check the speed issue by sending an engineer. So we complained and was told that there engineer will visit within 22 working hours which is 3 days period.
when the engineer visited and checked the speed was only around 0.2 - 0.4 Mbps on wi-fi. then he plugged the datacard on laptop USB, speed was varrying between 0.8 Mbps to 1.25 Mbps with lot of disconnection. He said there is speed issue and asked to fill in the remarks in his visit form and thereafter next day we got call from MTS customer care that speed cant be improved beyond this and shall remain this way only.
Then we asked for refund but were not attended as they cited reason that now 15 days are over. when we contacted the shop seller he also was not responding. we sent mail complaints to customer care and appellate, but they replied that you are getting speed upto 9.8 Mbps and there is no provision to refund the money. and now they issued monthly bill irrespective of we are not using this and have asked for refund and disconnection.
Then they asked us to send screenshot of speed we getting, we sent them the same with speed as 0.4 Mbps, then nest day they mailed us that you have registered a complaint for speed issue which is now resolved as we have once again sent an engineer to your place and now you are getting speed upto 9.8 mbps.
We have not been refunded our money for datacard nor they are disconnecting the connection. This is a big time fraud & cheat company. Will strongly recommend not to buy there product at all. we are in process of initiating a complaint with consumer forum, filing FIR against MTS shopseller and MTS management and also informing TRAI and Ministry of communication that MTS is doing fraud with thousands of Indian Customers and they must be penalised by cancelling of there telecon license. we dont know what will be the outcome but such complaint must be registered atleast for the Modi Govt to act against such illegal trade practices.
