MTS saga- It was nothing less than ‘eye opener.’
After being literally ‘harassed’ by the present internet service provider, I was forced to take some actions for getting a new internet connection. It was rather only a matter of dialing our dear old ‘Justdial’ services and bingo vendors keep calling you through the day with unique offers.
Having heard from various vendors, having gotten to understand various schemes and ‘super schemes’, I finally got stuck to MTS. I found them ‘reasonable’ and not pompous.
I was willing and had almost kept money aside for buying the dongle and giving them a chance to prove their mettle.
In my conversation with the executive from Patel Nagar, New Delhi, she informed me, in case I owned a company, there was a chance, she could arrange to get the dongles for free. I was even more excited. On further probing –to understand this proposal - the executive told me that I will have to at least get 5 dongles for meeting the criterion. It was even better, I could have given it all my employees at a monthly rental of INR 500.
The executive was like that friend for my start-up. Made me think that MTS was really nice to come out with schemes that helped fresh entrepreneurs. It made me think, it was nice for an internet provider to do something for growing businesses, with whom they would have made a change in the society.
My enthusiasm was flattened out when the boss –of the executive- baffled me with information. He informed me that the scheme was only available for private limited companies whose annual turnover was more than INR 50 cr.
It rang a bell in my mind, now what does that mean:
1.That businesses with more than INR 50 crores need benefits like free dongles.
2.That businesses with more than INR 50 crores, really cared about schemes, wouldn’t they rather look for services than mere dongles
We may not fall into the criterion today, we may take time to reach to that level. But, when do reach that revenue point, will I ever want to deal with MTS.
