I got MTS MBlaze on 31/05/2010. The thing works just fine. The software installed automatically and you just need to click on the connect button to get connected. Connection speed keeps varying but if you are in a city you are most likely to get broadband connectivity or else youll get CDMA 1x connectivity or both indicated by "hybrid" by the mblaze application. The max speed Ive recorded so far is 1.5mbps (190kbps) for download and about half the speed for upload. Anyways this is as good as any wireline broadband connection, perhaps better.
You can watch videos in youtube without breaks and the same applies for MTS TV. The speed you get is really the best part of this service! If you are in a broadband area youll at least get 30kbps but mostly youll record around 50kbps. The speed you get is more than enough for video chatting, video streaming and downloading movies, torrents etc. Ive done direct downloads from mega upload and rapidshare at a rate of 60+kbps sometimes going upto a 120kbps!!!!!
Ive so far not experienced any congestion or failure of the network or of the device. National Roaming can be enabled by updating the driver from the mts website. Overall I would say that this is really gr8 and much much bttr than tata photon or reliance bb+ in terms of its capability and speed, if you are looking for some wireless fun then go for it.
some unique features
the usb stick is rotatable
you can insert a memory card in it
you can watch many tv channels using MTS TV at very good quality and without buffering problems
4.instant recharge can be done thru the internet if you have a debit/visa card.
pay 595 inr and get 10gb of usage (night only)
you dont have to rchrg it every month... a minimum off 200 inr rchrg is sufficient in 6 months to keep d connection active
you can roam all over india even where mts doesnt have mobile services right now
you can check your balance and data usage instantly..
some drawbacks
these drawbacks are not specific of mblaze but apply to all wireless bb services being provided currently by operators.
bb coverage is limited... youll be switched over to 1x CDMA mode where bb signal isnt available thus reducing your surfing speed to 144kbps
tariff plans are but a little costly... I expect more competitive tailor made plans in the future
