Actually I took MTS MBLAZE because I had no other choice. Tata Phtoton+ and Reliance Netconnect wasnt available at Jamshedpur. MTS was the only wireless broadband provider.
I have been using the service for the last 2 months and so far I am quite satisfied with the ISP.
Speed: Though they claim 3.1 MBPS, the actual speed is much less and depends on various factors. I have been getting around 500 kbps on an average and around 1 mbps at night(when traffic is less). I think it is similar across other service providers.
Connectivity: No issues with connectivity when you are inside a city. Outside city limits, you may get only CDMA 1x speed.
Tariff: A bit expensive but when you compare across wireless providers, it is cheap.
If you compare Photon, Netconnect and MBLAZE:
- The claimed speed is the same for each, 3.1 MBps2. Photon is available in 74 cities, Netconnect is available in 56 cities and MBLAZE is available in >70 cities.3. Photon and Netconnect are older. MTS is newer.4. Tariff. This is the clincher. The basic device for MTS is available at INR 1999 while for others it is 2299. Also, a 6GB data plan for MTS is available at Rs. 898 while for Photon it is Rs. 950 for 5GB and for Netconnect it is Rs. 1210 for 5GB.5. One drawback of MBLAZE is that it is available only in prepaid format except in Mumbai and Rajasthan where postpaid is available.
