Then MTS, the brand of Shyam Sistema Telecommunications is your answer. I found out the hard way ever since I decided on the Christmas weekend to buy MTS’ wi-fi broadband connection called M-Blaze. M-Blaze probably stands for Money-Blaze: my money seems to be disappearing in a blaze every day since I bought the connection. Here’s a synopsis of what has happened:
o Connection plus ZTE modem purchased for approx Rs 3150 through Croma Retail in Lower Parel in Mumbai: Dec 27th.
o Freebie: 15 GB download free for 1 month plus free surfing on some websites for 1 month; no roaming charges.
o Supposed to be activated: Dec 28th 2009 EoD
o 3 Trips to Croma: 28th, 31st, and 2 Jan
o At least 5 calls to and from MTS Customer Care in Mumbai: 31st through 3rd Jan
o At least 5calls to and from MTS executives in Chennai: 4th Jan through 9th Jan
o Actual date of activation & use: Jan 9th 2010
o Haphazard functioning starts: Jan 9th 2010
o I give up in frustration: Jan 10th 2010
