Those were the days when 3G wasn’t widely available and I was using a Airtel dongle to browse internet on my lappy with the 2G speed; and everyone here knows the pain of using a 2G network, for sure.
An acquaintance suggested me to use MTS, it gives you a better speed. So the very next day I got the SIM and the locked USB modem. Initially the reputation was fine. I was getting a better speed, you can guess how much better can a 2G speed be! And then the nightmare started.
Being a fan of Airtel’s network for so long, I was not at all satisfied with the connectivity it offered. With frequent network reception failures, I just couldn’t use it reliably. Even when the network reception was fine, the internet connection used to drop. But atleast there were not much fluctuation as far as speed is concerned. I used to get a constant speed and then pfff. gone. Disconnect and Reconnect cycle went on moving.
I used it for 2-3 months and then switched again to Airtel as 3G arrived.
