Cyrus Broacha reminds one of Javed Jaffrey. Javed right from the start of his television career as a channel V vj kept turning out the same jokes from the old hat and Cyrus alike has nothing new to offer.
Recently caught an episode of Bakra and yet again the same old tricks. How is it funny if you are catching a by-stander who doesn’t have any clue as to who you are and making a fool out of him? Probably it cracks up only Cyrus. Not the audiences I am sure.
Bakra in the past however has come up with some cool stuff. In fact a few weeks back they had an episode where they made a bakra out of Sunil Shetty. But hey, it wasn’t Cyrus or the MTV gang who came up with the smart idea. It was Sanjay Dutt. The two were shooting together for Kaante and Sanjay thought of pulling a prank at Shetty who otherwise is known for pulling pranks at his co-stars.
Then there was another episode where they made a bakra out of vj Mini and in the same episode Mini took her revenge and tried to make Cyrus a bakra. Those are kinda funny.
But not the ones where you trouble people on the roads, in the restaurants, in cabs and in the weirdest of places.
It is time for Cyrus and the creative team of the show to actually put their thinking caps on and try and come up with gags which are in fact funny. Wat say?!
