I am a thick lover of music especially the songs sung by Arijit Singh and KK.
So I am well aware of MTV Coke Studio. This was started in 2011. And obviously it is the most popular among the Indian people.We like such songs. Of those who believe Rock and Pop songs of the west are the best, I would recommend them to watch Coke Studio songs, they will find the real melody in these songs.
Earlier the Coke studio was based in Pakistan, and then later it was launched in India. It is well known for its unique selection of Folk and regional songs and that too in their original local dialects. Coke studio also comprises of pop music and rock music( of which I am least interested).
I am very fond of the unique set of classical instruments that the bands use while performing their song. Hardly will one find such instruments nowadays. And it is those instruments that make the songs very very melodious and lovable. One will always feel peaceful after silently listening to such Coke Studio Songs.
As such I belong to Gujarat. My first priority will always be the ’Laadki’ by Sachin Jigar. Everyone must like that song. I have heard praises of the song from every outsider who does not understand many words that are used in the lyrics(after understanding the song, of course). It is based basically on the relations between a Father and his Daughter. Everyone gets a feeling of being nostalgic after hearing or rather understanding this song.
Till now 4 Seasons have been officially launched by Coke Studio.Every song and its words or lyrics wants convey some message, that is what I observed.Take for example-’Husna’ by Piyush Mishra and Co. or’Madari’ of Vishal Dadlani and Neha Kakkar or’Zariya’ by A R Rahman or’Cheene re mora chain’ by Salim and Sulaiman. These are my most preffered songs of the Coke Studio.
Coke Studio also conducted concerts in various popular cities in India, including one at IIM- Ahmedabad.
I am keenly waiting for their concert in Gujarat again. Because there is whole lot of singers in Gujarat. And they are one of the biggest inspirations for those singers.
As our Indian society does not accept Singing as a good passion for their children, cause they want a very secured job for them and Singing is never their first priority. Every one must agree to the fact that many hidden singers do exist everywhere, but just because of their’parental disapproval’, had to let go of their choice and choose other priorities in life.
