I was thinking of giving a long intro but lets cut the chase…
The Osbornes’-- definitely not your typical every day family. No soccer mom or dad in the stock market and kids tying to make it to Princeton, Yale etc etc etc...No that would be too redundant. And frankly I think we’ve all had enough of that. Here we have a damn famous family…one of the biggest in the music world, if not the biggest.
The Osborne’s for those of you who dont know are one of the biggest celebrity families in America. Ozzy is a rock star and Mum Sharon is Ozzys second wife and mother to Amy, Jack and Kelly.
Kelly by the way has become a diva in her own right.
(punk diva mind you) and Jack is trying to start his
own managing agency/ record label?? Amy, (she’s not like the rest of them) fled the house cause she was embarrassed.
The Osbornes’ are graced with the presence of numerous uninvited guests. The most revolting being Dill (the most unhygienic skateboarder who just sort of lives there…. Jack later asks him “discreetly” to leave) and of course Marilyn Manson. If this isn’t unusual enough we have the family members using colorful language, Sharon having a food fight with the neighbors, Ozzy looking and acting stoned due to extensive experience with drugs…
I think I’ve criticized them enough… Should I start defending them now?
For those who feel there are no “real” elements in the show…I beg to differ.
Seriously…Consider the sibling rivalry- Jack and Kelly fight for the tv remote (that has some 500 features) is pretty normal
Then we have the uninvited guest problem that come, on be real…how many of us haven’t faced????
We have “the talk” where the parents talk to the kids about drugs, alcohol etc…(a bit ironic, no snide comments here…;-))
The we have the holiday season, which doesn’t turn out like anyone planned…
On a more serious note, there was the episode when Sharon finds out she has cancer… Kids coping with work stress, Parents coping with bad health etc etc…
The verdict??? IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE A REALITY SHOW…and so it is… Osborne ishtyle
