Actually was getting bored and so, am killing off some of my time by reviewing an old superhit classic movie, Mudhalvan. I have watched this movie umpteen times and is uncountable. This is one of the most entertaining movies and here is why
Story: A honest TV reporter who interviews a corrupt Chief Minister battles it with him. He becomes the Chief Minister for one day due to a challenge from the corrupt Chief Minister. And he makes a drastic change to the society in a single day that people want him to become the Chief Minister for ever. But he doesnt want to because as many say, politics is garbage. But somehow, people persuade him and he becomes Chief Minister. But the previous CMs are against him now and what happens forms the rest of the story!
Cast Performances:
Arjun: Inarguably his best movie ever!!!His performance was literally mind blowing! Especially watch out the scene where he breaks down at the demise of his parents. Somehow, this guy survived due to Shankars blockbusters.
Manisha: BORING!!! I am not a big fan of Manisha and found her to be boring in this otherwise classic movie! She tried to be bubbly but was irritating at many times. Acting bubbly is not so easy and only a few can do it and get it right (e.g. my all time favorite Jyothika!).
Raghuvaran: WHAT AN ACTOR??? Superb!!! He is one of the best actors of South Indian cinema. His portrayals always rock among the audience!!! His get up, his dialogue delivery, his style of talking all are superb and top notch stuff.
Vadivelu: He was also very good in this movie. Some of his vulgar dialogues were not there and it was a great relief.
Music: Actually, this review is too much of praise only. Music adds to that praise. Superb stuff from AR Rehman. The best numbers being Mudhalvane, Azhagana Rakshasiye and Shakalaka Baby!
Shankar: This guy is the backbone of Mudhalvan. People will remember Mudhalvan not for Arjun, AR Rehman or Raghuvaran but for Tamil Cinemas NO. 1 director, Shankar. An amazing talent and he is one of the top directors in South India. His movies simply rock!!!
Rating: 95/100 (Classic!)
