Mudumalai - You must be lucky to see wild animals

Couple of days back we went to Mudumalai. I was very eager as everyone over there, esp the kids, to watch the wild animals. Even though I haven’t dreamt about watching a Tiger, I thought, atleast I could see a couple of Elephants. However, I’m managed to get the tickets, despite the big queue in front of the Santuary’s ticket issuing place. The safari took around 30 minutes. Except a couple of deers, monkeys and peacocks, we haven’t seen anything. It was a big disappointment, esp, it is very pity to see the kids disappointing face.

Whereas, we went to a near by place called Masinangudi, we stayed in cottage near by the forest area. We were told that we can see Elephants and Bears nearby, during the nights, if we switch of all the lights and without making any noise. At first I didn’t believe this. But a foreigner who stayed in the near by room, told that she’s watching the animals for the last 3 days. During the night, to our surprise, we saw the elephants within a ten feet distance, which was definitely, a very thrilling experience.
